r/NewTubers by u/BestRetroGames 420 1041y ago I just made my first 1000$ after getting monetized 2 months ago, lessons learned, mistakes & tips. I already posted here once just before I was about to be monetized with some lessons learned of getting there.
I never ever expected to get monetized, I just enjoyed talking about my hobby, let alone make 1000$ in two months, but here we are and I want to share some news, tips and mistakes made.
**Revenue Streams:**
* The revenue from ADs from YouTube itself is relatively small. I am getting about 4-5$ per 1000 views. This has made me about 120$ in the first two months of monetization.
* Once I decided to focus on making some revenue out of the channel, things went better than expected. I created a long list of recommended products (stuff I was already recommending for free which I totally stand behind) with affiliate links. This brought me so far about 300$ from AliExpress. Amazon is quite low here with only 20$ so far. I've also gotten 200$ more from a specialized vendor.
* In another DIY video I was getting a LOT of questions about a DIY project, so much so that it was becoming time consuming to answer everyone. I do like engaging with my audience and find it hard not answering people. So.. I put the DIY project plans with some customization per user under a small ask for a d

So here's something that's actually working for me right now.
I run faceless YouTube and TikTok channels. No camera, no showing my face, no editing skills needed. AI tools handle most of the work scripts, voiceovers, images, even full video generation.
How it works:
\- Pick a niche (scary stories, motivation, finance tips, history facts all work well)
\- Use AI to generate videos daily
\- Post consistently for 2-3 months
\- YouTube monetizes at 1K subs + 4K watch hours
\- TikTok has the creativity program
Is it truly passive? Not at the start. The first 2-3 months are a grind of posting daily. But once you're monetized and have a library of 100+ videos, they keep earning views and ad revenue without you touching them. That's when it starts feeling passive.
What it's not: a get rich quick scheme. Most people quit after 2 weeks of zero views. The ones who make it just didn't stop.
Happy to answer questions if anyone wants specifics about niches or the process.
View parsed comments (up to 162)Open on Reddit r/YouTube by u/tizzy20 4 122y ago How much do you earn per 1000 views on Youtube So, I've a small Youtube channel where I try to post a new video like 1-2 every week. I don't get an insane amount of views or anything, but my average video will get at least 1000 views. My better videos will get within the 3-10k view range & my most viewed is more than 35k views.
I got like 35 videos up, & since I recently surpassed 500 subs (not that recent, like 2 months ago), I can now see the 'earnings' that each video gets. But for every single one of my videos, its just 0.00$.
Like.. not even a cent on any of my videos. So I'm not sure if there's something that I have to set up first for my channel to start earning, or if its that my videos didn't earn a cent. Like .. how many views does one have do get before they at least earn a cent?
Im not being greedy or anything, but I genuinely don't know if its that I just don't have enough views or a following yet, or if I need to configure something first before I can see an amount reflected on the 'earn' tab.
Thanks for reading, any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Let's say I posted a video and now it has 100k views. Do I get paid just from that views? Let's say there's no ad in that video. Will that video earn me money plus, additional question, am I the one who will put ad on my video or is it youtube who will do it and will let me know?

That sucks. But that doesn't mean you still can't make a little money from your videos. Smart YouTubers know that *monetization* isn't the only way to make money, and it isn't even the best way. Here are 6 other ways you can actually make a little money on YouTube, even if you don't have monetization anymore.
**Sponsoring**
If you have a somewhat decent audience and you really offer value in your videos, you can try to find sponsors for your videos. It's usually not that interesting for big companies to sponsor you, but you could try to contact small companies with modest advertising budgets. Find small entrepreneurs on LinkedIn that fit your YouTube category and reach out to them. Or ask local businesses if they are interested in a little promotion, in exchange for $25 or so. You could also check [Famebit](https://www.famebit.com) to see if they have cool collaborations for smaller YouTubers.
**Product placement**
Product placement means that you show a product in your video and tell something about it. This works very well in the technology or beauty space. As a smaller YouTuber you could try to find companies that

I left conversation copies from YouTube below for proof. Also, I will do my best to answer everyone. FYI: I'm 15, soon 16.
**Background story:** Mid 2024 I made a channel. I uploaded over 50 videos, grew to 108 000 subscribers, I gave YouTube about 200 000 watch hours (as I remember), and was making $30–$70 a day in ad revenue. Then I got two copyright strikes (7 seconds in total). YouTube Support told me that If I deleted every video on my channel, I could not get any more strikes. Since I was desperate and so afraid of having my channel terminated, I deleted every video. (You get banned if you get 3 strikes.) Today I regret that decision, but the plan was after the strikes went off (90 days) I could start uploading normally again. That explains why I had 0 videos/content.
About six weeks later after deleting all my videos, on 20 December, with zero videos left, I logged in and found my channel terminated for “spam and deceptive practices.” Keep in mind my channel had 0 videos at that time. I appealed immediately and for **4** **months** my YouTube Studio just said my appe
View parsed comments (up to 448)Open on Reddit r/PartneredYoutube by u/Suspicious_Special11 10 541y ago I meet all the YouTube Criteria for monetization but AdSense keeps denying me. Any help is appreciated I've been doing YouTube for about 3 months at this point and have gotten extremely lucky to have already hit all the requirements for monetization. While making money isnt my main priority, if I meet the criteria, I would like to at least see what happens.
I have reached 1000 subs, and the 4000 watch hours by a good margin but still AdSense denies me at every turn. My content is not family friendly, but I stay well withing the guidelines for monetization and the most I do is curse here and there (after the 1 minute mark of course) and at times make crude jokes. I also don't have a duplicate account as this is all brand new to me.
It is super frustrating to know that I should be getting approved but instead am constantly turned down. I have tried customer support and they just send me an article that shows me the guidelines. I read over every part of it and I dont violate any of them.
It is just extremely confusing and any help that someone can give would seriously mean the world. Thanks so much in advance and I wish everyone here prosperity.

My appeal was rejected in under a minute, and when I reached out on X, they said they’d review it but never got back to me.
This was our family’s only source of income. I have a 50% disability and can’t do any other work. In the past few weeks, a thousand terrible thoughts have crossed my mind.
It reminds me of that Iranian-American woman years ago who attacked YouTube HQ. I absolutely do not condone what she did—it was horrific and criminal. But her reason was YouTube demonetizing her videos and destroying her income. Back then, I didn’t fully understand, but now that it’s happened to me, I get the crushing pressure people go through. Some snap and do unthinkable things; others, like me, just watch their life fall apart while no one at that company cares.
I didn’t really have anywhere else to share this. As the family breadwinner, I have to act strong so we don’t all break. Lately, I’ve been forcing smiles and pretending I’m okay, while inside

My Google account was hacked and ALL my security details were changed in a matter of minutes and a passkey was installed by the hacker. I had 2FA, recovery phone number, recovery email and access codes; none of this mattered and I am surprised that Google allowed all this info to be changed in a short period of time without raising suspicion.
I reached out to Team YouTube on twitter right away and opened a case with Google. After waiting for 5 weeks, they confirmed my channel was compromised and closed it, but they also said they did not have enough information to verify my identity. They prompted me (for the THIRD time) to their useless recovery site ([accounts.google.com/signin/recovery](http://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery)) which just asks for backup codes, recover phone number, and a code that they sent to the HACKED email. Their alternative advice is to create another Google account. Is this a joke?? I obviously don't have access to any security information. For some reason, they can't even ask me the REAL questions to verify my identity:

View parsed comments (up to 148)Open on Reddit r/YouTubeCreators by u/Seeking_knowledge777 6 844mo ago YouTube rejected my monetization for “repetitive content” — but my stories, narration & visuals are original. What am I missing? Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate some advice from creators who’ve been through YPP reviews.
I run a text-based storytelling channel where viewers read and listen to original short stories. Each video includes:
Original human narration (recorded by me for every video)
Unique stories (researched and written individually, with AI used only as a writing/creative assistant)
Custom visuals created specifically to match each story
On-screen text that changes with the story so viewers can read along
The thumbnail style and overall visual theme are intentionally consistent for branding, but the stories, narration, and visuals are different in every video.
I recently met all monetization requirements, but YouTube rejected my application under “repetitive content.” I’m confused because:
The content itself is not reused
The narration is human, not synthetic
Each story and visual set is created separately
I haven’t appealed yet because I’m unsure whether YouTube considers consistent formatting (not reused content) as repetitive, especially for text-based storytelling channels.
If you’ve faced something similar:
Did appealing help?
Did you need to change format, or was clarification enough?

View parsed comments (up to 84)Open on Reddit r/PartneredYoutube by u/LorOffBridges 0 521y ago Why is my YouTube RPM so low despite a high-quality audience? (€5-6 RPM while others get $20?) Hey everyone,
I’m trying to figure out why my YouTube revenue is lower than expected compared to similar niches. This is NOT a flex—I’m genuinely frustrated and looking for insights.
Here’s my situation:
• Channel Analytics (Last 28 Days):
• Watch Time: 18.2K hours
• Subscribers Gained: +1.6K
• Estimated Revenue: ~$1.4K USD
• Average video length: 8-15 minutes
• Audience: 40+ years old
• Content Type: Educational
• Audience Demographics (Ad-Friendly Countries):
• 30% from the U.S.
• Other key regions: Canada, UK, Germany, Japan
Yet, my RPM is around €5-6 ($5.5-6.5 USD), while I just listened to a Think Media podcast where a woman in the food niche had a $20 RPM.
I make high-quality videos, 3-4 per week and every video gets 10K-20K views or more consistently. Given my audience (40+), I assumed it would be better monetized due to a more mature, potentially higher-spending demographic.
So why is my RPM so low? What could I do differently?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I recently got montized, I’ve been earning a bit for a few days now, but my revenue page for my best performing video says that Ive earned 100% of my revenue through YouTube Premium, and it has no ad data to report. This seems a bit odd, and I’ve only been monetized for a bit now, but my RPM is quite low at 0.12$ per 1k. I double checked my video and the still seems to have ads and be monetized so….I dont know. I’m quite new to this, so any insights would be appreciated, thank you!
View parsed comments (up to 6)Open on Reddit r/NewTubers by u/Farooqabruuuukanu 2 31y ago Questions about Ad breaks and revenue! So, I recently got monetized on youtube and I have some questions:
1: Why is my CPM low?
I upload gaming content with no harmful or vulger subject in it, without voiceover. I don't see any particular reason, but my CPM is around 1.6$. I think it's pretty low as compared to others that I have talked with.
2: Should I put manual mid-rolls?
Video length of my videos averages from 10 to 20 minutes, which gives me option to add manual mid-rolls. I know it may sound selfish, but I want to earn more as some of my videos are doing really well, and I need to purchase a laptop to make even better content. Question is: How many ads play on a 12 minutes long video automatically and should I do manual mid-rolls. If yes, then how many mid-rolls should I add?
3: Some of my videos don't show ads!
I turned on monetization for all videos. I played one of my videos on friend's phone. The first video showed ad in the start and then it didn't show anything even after four minutes.
Next up video was also mine, so I clicked on it and this video didn't even show starting ad.
What should I do?

I’ve been working on a side project called[**PDF All Tools**](https://pdfalltools.com/). It’s a minimalist platform designed to handle common file headaches (PDF merging, Excel to JSON conversion, document compression) without the usual bloat, pop-ups, or mandatory sign-ups found on most "big" sites.
I launched it a few months ago, and while the user base is growing organically, the AdSense revenue is still very low (around $0.30 last month).
**The Stack:** The site includes tools for PDF manipulation, automated document summarization (using smart text-extraction logic), and various data converters for Excel and JSON.
**I’d love to get some veteran advice on two things:**
1. **AdSense for Utility Sites:** Since visitors usually come for a quick 2-minute task and then leave, my RPM is quite low. For those running similar "single-purpose" tool sites, do you find that manual ad placement near the action buttons works better than Auto-Ads?
2. **Performance/UX:** Does the interface feel professional enough to trust with your files? I’m aiming for a "utility first" vibe, but I'm worried it might be *too* simple for some users.

View parsed comments (up to 4)Open on Reddit r/PartneredYoutube by u/jakgal04 0 47mo ago Best way to handle a storefront? I started a niche channel earlier this year and have been lucky enough to make it more successful than I was originally expecting. I'll preface by saying that I started this channel mainly to help people in my hobby and was not expecting to make any money out of it, but this year I've made just under $6000 on Youtube and around $2700 on Amazon affiliate links.
My question is, its becoming tedius to manage product links in my descriptions for a few reasons, links are always changing, sometimes I forget to list a link to a tool or whatever. I'd like to create a store front that has the items I use or mention on the website, that way I can group tools/parts together and organize them in a way that makes sense and hopefully make it easier for people to find the stuff they need.
Does anyone have something like this? Maybe a shopify store?
